§ 2.84.020. Purpose of provisions—Statutory authority.

  • Section 91520 of the Government Code provides that the authority shall not transact any business or exercise any powers under the Act unless, by ordinance, the board of supervisors declares that the authority in needed and shall function. The board of supervisors has heard public testimony and reviewed written reports which evidence the need for the county to provide financial assistance to promote economic development within the county, and the board of supervisors, acting under the pursuant to the Act, finds that public interest and necessity require the adoption of the ordinance codified in this chapter to active the authority.
