§ 2.16.010. Statement of legislative intent.

Latest version.
  • The board of supervisors finds and determines that it is more efficient and economical to have the clerk of the board physically in close proximity to the board of supervisors' meeting room, board offices, and the offices of the county administrator and county counsel. The board recognizes that while administrative supervision of the clerk is minimal, administrative supervision and logistical support should reside in the office within which the clerk of the board is to be located. Therefore, the county administrative officer shall perform such administrative supervision and provide logistical support to the clerk of the board. The board further recognizes that certain duties of the clerk are performed at the direct order of the board and that some other functions are mandated by statute or decisional law, while others may be performed by the county clerk or the clerk of the board. The board will therefore delineate and assign these duties from time to time by resolution, as provided herein.
