§ 16.20.010. Purpose of provisions.

Latest version.
  • It is in the public interest to establish a program for the purpose of preventing contamination from and improper storage of hazardous substances stored underground. Except in those counties where a city has assumed the responsibility, every county is required to implement such a program. No city in the county has assumed the responsibility for such a program. Therefore, it is the purpose of this chapter to establish a county-wide program, including incorporated areas, to prevent contamination from, and the improper storage of, hazardous substances stored underground, all as required by state law.
