  • For the purpose of establishing proper regulations to safeguard the public health, safety and general welfare from the hazards of fire, explosion or dangerous conditions in new and existing buildings, structures and premises, and to provide safety and assistance to fire fighters and emergency responders during emergency operations, the 2013 Edition of the California Fire Code, including Appendices Chapter 4, B and C, hereinafter referred to as the "fire code," which is based on the 2012 International Fire Code adopted with modifications by the State of California as Title 24 Part 9 of the California Code of Regulations, is adopted and made part of this code by reference, subject to the modifications set forth in this chapter.
